Introduction:
Cadillac did an amazing job with the design of the Blackwing line. The boxer in a tuxedo could be one way to describe it. Intentional or not, at times the V can be a bit understated. Now you have an option to customize your Blackwing just the way you want it. Introducing the billet aluminum and titanium Blackwing badges. Wondering what is the best way to use them? The right way, is your way.
Design:
Aesthetics and consistency are an important part of any package. These custom badges were designed to match the shape, width, thickness, and overall sizing of the existing V series badges. You will notice the OEM V badges are slightly raised off the body, have negative space around each logo/character, and have a consistent overall height/width. Care was taken to size the logo within the available space to continue the OEM design characteristics, while not distorting the logo. Matching the same aesthetic as OEM means these can be used to replace existing badging or accentuate any area of the interior, exterior, or engine bay.
Materials/Finishing:
Every badge is CNC machined in the USA with 6061-T6 forged aluminum as the standard option. No plastic to be found here. True connoisseurs can also be order their badge in the crème de la crème 6al-4v titanium. Titanium badges provide a rainbow like color to the Blackwing inlay. Billet aluminum finishing provides a distinct visual aesthetic to ensure your Blackwing is not mistaken for the base model. Heat anodizing of the titanium is another option for a unique rainbow finish.
Installation/Care:
Badges come with a very strong double sided tape for install. I recommend mocking the badge up to the area you plan to install before committing. If you want a different aesthetic feel free to change out the double sided tape. Working with dirty hands can leave smudges and oil streaks. Consider using gloves or washing your hands prior to install. Drive through car washes with brushes are not recommended since there is always a risk of it removing your badge without asking.
Disclaimer
Heat anodizing is an art, not a science. Heating and cooling rates of the material are not able to be controlled enough to get a consistent color across the entire badge. The rainbow finish achieved will be different every time, making your badge truly unique. Any items out of stock at time of order will be machined at the next run, but all orders will be delivered.
